Frequently Asked Questions
Healthy food in a lunchbox
If you are packing your children’s lunch day after day, it
is very tempting to pack their lunches with prepackaged snack packs of chips,
chocolates, and pudding cups because it is so simple.
However, you will also be packing your
children with fat, so you may rethink your lunch plan so that you both give
your children healthy food and help them develop a taste for healthy food later
in life.
Of course there is nothing wrong with one snack, but you
need to have healthy food for the rest of the lunch to balance it out.
You might purchase fruit cups with low sugar
as a healthy food snack, or choose grapes as a handy easy alternative.
Carrots and celery sticks are great healthy food snacks, and
if you add a packet of peanut butter for them to dip in, you may not only
entice them to eat their healthy food, but give them protein rich healthy food
at the same time.
Children should also have wheat bread for their sandwiches,
although it may be hard to get children to develop a taste for wheat, keep in
mind that if you start young they will not know any different than this healthy
food alternative.
