Frequently Asked Questions
Healthy living while traveling
Despite your hardest efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle, sometimes it may seem like healthy living is impossible when you are traveling or taking a vacation. In fact, healthy living is not impossible while on the road, but just takes some thought and planning if you want to return in the same shape you left.
First off, one of the largest keys to healthy living is your diet. While it may be tempting to snack on foods you normally would not, just because you are away does not mean the fat and calories do not count or won’t build up in your arteries. Although a few treats here and there will not kill you, every meal is going to do some damage, especially if you are away for a week or more.
Therefore, you should find a local grocer by your hotel and make a point to stock your mini-fridge with tasteful delights such as apples, organs and fig bars. This way, when you really want to splurge, you will not be splurging on top of unhealthy treats.
Healthy living also includes regular exercise, so make sure you still walk at least twenty minutes a day, plus, if you wander into the city it is a wonderful way to explore your surroundings and fine tiny charming bakeries and shops you would have otherwise never known to visit.
